2. What data do we collect?
   When you use our platform on mathara.app, we collect the following information:
   • Name (if you choose to provide it)
   • Email address
   • Behavioural data, such as the number of correct answers, the number of videos watched and which content you interact with
   • Country, used solely for statistics
   We do not collect precise location data or sensitive personal information.
3. Why we collect it
   We process your information for the following purposes:
   • Customer service and account management, for example when you write to us or change your profile
   • Analysis and improvement of the platform. We analyse anonymised behavioural data to understand which videos and questions users struggle with, so we can improve the learning material
   • Advertising measurement. We use marketing pixels (Meta, TikTok, Google) to measure the effectiveness of our adverts. These only load if you give consent in the cookie banner
4. Third-party services
   We do not share your personal information with unauthorised parties. We do, however, use the following third-party services:
   • Stripe: used for payments and the handling of personal information in connection with purchases. Stripe is an independent data controller for the personal data you provide when paying. You can read their privacy policy here: https://stripe.com/privacy
   • Meta Pixel: used for advertising purposes. The pixel does not directly collect personally identifiable data, but it can link behavioural data to your Meta profiles (Facebook/Instagram), depending on your own settings with Meta.
5. International data transfers
   We store all data ourselves within the EU. However, we use Stripe, a US company, which may transfer your personal information to countries outside the EU/EEA, including the USA.
   These transfers comply with applicable data protection rules and are based on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).

6. How long we keep your data
   Behavioural data: kept for as long as it is relevant for running and improving the platform. This data is anonymised.
   Account data: kept for as long as you have an active account.
   Payment data: kept by Stripe in accordance with their own guidelines and applicable law.
7. Legal basis
   We process your information on the following grounds under GDPR Article 6:
   • Consent, for the use of marketing pixels and advertising
   • Contract, when you use our services and make purchases
   • Legitimate interest, for analysing and improving content and functionality
8. Your rights
   You have the right to:
   • Delete your account, which you can do yourself directly under Profile
   • Access the information we hold about you
   • Have data corrected or deleted where relevant
   We do not support automatic data portability. All data is stored and processed in the EU/EEA, apart from what Stripe handles, as described above.
9. Changes
   We reserve the right to update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, you will be notified by email or by a notification on the platform.
